My decision to run for the State Senate is based upon my concern for the issues that affect the Hampden District. These issues include: Economic development and job growth; Infrastructure maintenance and development; A safe and well-balanced education for children; Lasting solutions to the social woes that are crippling our cities.
I offer the Hampden District a new way of doing business. During my tenure as the Mayor of Agawam, I was commonly known as the "Business-Friendly Mayor". As Senator, I will take my experience and focus my efforts on economic development and job growth. I have a proven record of generating new revenue through growth in local businesses and employment.
During the deepest recession since the Great Depression, I created two balanced budgets with no layoffs or cuts in essential services. I curbed wasteful spending while protecting jobs. i provide balanced leadership built upon a strong record of success. This has, and will, continue to foster positive relationships with big and small businesses, allowing for economic growth and new jobs.
I offer to the people of the Hampden District a proven record as a fiscal manager with successful economic and employment growth, coupled with a record of fighting for the rights of all individuals.
I believe that my unique qualities make me a positive choice for the position of State Senator. Thank you in advance for your support.
